A. Jonah is learning more about the Hoenikker family, especially in the three postscripts Newt added at the end of his long letter. Newt is turning out to be the exact opposite of his father. On his way to meet Dr. Asa Breed, he met Sandra in a bar who gave him intro about Dr. Breed, he wasn’t the man Jonah thought he was. During this meeting, Jonah explored the city of Illium, New York.
B. Tomfoolery: playful or foolish behavior.
Dutifully: filled with or motivated by a sense of duty.
Trudged: to walk or march steadily and usually laboriously.
C. Why does Newt include his personal information in the three postscripts? Why do we need to know about his wife, Zinka? Why does Sandra say Mr. Breed is the man Jonah won’t think he is, but he seems perfectly normal?
